Dear Mark!
at last my comments as promised....
During 5-6 of April, Mark organised a very nice trip down to Yang county in search of one of my China targets, the Crested Ibis, rediscovered here in 1981! Mark met up at the airport and the transport "over" the beautiful Qinling mountains were quick and already short after lunch we arrived to Yangxian. After a quick lunch we headed out and in the area just outside town we saw our first ibis feeding in a small stream! What a start! Other good birds included Long billed plover, Plombeous and white capped redstarts. We continued up the mountains and scored Golden Pheasants before sunset! Back to town and a delicious dinner at the local restaurant! Early morning the following day we headed out again and saw a few more ibises, white fronted forktail, brown dipper and ibisbill among others!! In the late afternoon we were "forced" to go back to Xian to meet up with the rest of the family. In the best spring weather we spend the rest of the weekend in the facinating city Xian! Many thanks Mark for this "custom made" trip, perfect logistic, good guiding, excellent food and good friendship! We will come back1

Great web site! I am living in China currently and if all goes well, I hope to see much more wildlife while I am lucky enough to live here. WE've done a few trips (See our travelogue below) but we want more information on where to go for more and more! We would love to see the damoiselle cranes somewhere here as well as many of the mammals on the Qinghai and Tibetan plateaus. Hopefully next year.

Cheers!

Gorgeous photo - but its of a Spectacled Parrotbill & NOT a Nepal Fulvetta. Spectacled Parrotbill's known from the Qinling Shan in southern Shaanxi - its an uncommon resident there while in China Nepal Fulvetta's restricted to Se Tibet and extreme western Yunnan (Nabang, Yinjiang).
